15 years of the Dahlem Chamber Orchestra

Three generations perform works together that the artistic director Philip Douvier has composed especially for this line-up.

This time, the orchestra will perform his symphonic arrangements of "Das Wandern ist des Müllers Lust" and "Komm, lieber Mai" based on Mendelssohn and Wagner, among others. With his compositions and arrangements, Philip Douvier makes it possible for dedicated amateur musicians to access and play great works of classical literature.He guides the orchestra sensitively and pedagogically through all the crises of playing together, imparts a great deal of experience from his everyday life as a professional musician and arouses enthusiasm in young and old alike.The Dahlem Chamber Orchestra brings together players aged between 10 and 88.

The Dahlem Chamber Orchestra has been in the hands of the Douvier family for three generations

The Dahlem Chamber Orchestra was founded by three generations of the Douvier family. This musical family business provides the orchestra with a constant supply of new sheet music, enthusiastically performs with and conducts the ensemble, organizes the family framework for rehearsals, orchestra trips and concerts and takes care of logistics, office work and stage technology - all with the active support of the approximately 50 musicians and the Dahlem Chamber Orchestra Association.
