The Plänterwaldlauf in the district of Treptow is a real staple of the German running scene.
Every year, there are several distances to choose from at the Plänterwaldlauf: Runners can compete over 5, 10, 15 or 20 kilometers. This makes the Plänterwaldlauf a race for athletes of all levels and preferences.
The course is a 5 kilometer circuit that leads directly through the Plänterwald. The circuit starts in the bus loop (Baumschulenstr. 1) and leads the asphalt road into the Plänterwaldlauf, once around the former amusement park Spreepark and along the Spree back to Baumschulenstraße to the finish. The course is IAAF measured and exactly 5,007 meters long. Depending on the chosen discipline, it will be run once or several times. Along the course every kilometer is marked by a sign.
