An overview of the Sundays open for business in 2024 and 2025 in Berlin.

Every year, the Berlin Senate determines up to eight fixed dates on which all stores, stores and shopping centers in the capital may open their doors on a Sunday. The permitted opening hours on Sundays when the shops are open for business are from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. The reason for the Sunday openings are major holidays or important events taking place in Berlin.

Please note: The special regulation on Sundays open for business in Berlin does not imply any obligation to keep stores open. Individual stores in large shopping centers can therefore also remain closed. As a general rule, sales outlets may not open on two consecutive Sundays and only on a total of two Sundays per month.

Individual Sunday Openings

On the occasion of special events, in particular company anniversaries and street festivals, retail outlets may open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on two further Sundays or public holidays in the year. These individual Sunday openings are communicated to the responsible district office in advance.

Shopping Centers open on Sundays

Many large shopping centers in Berlin open several times a year on a Sunday of their choice. The shopping centers are then usually open from 1 pm to 6 pm, some even until 7 pm. The dates for 2024 and 2024 at a glance.
