Ferry F11: Baumschulenstraße — Oberschöneweide

The ferry F11 crosses the Spree south of Plänterwald and connects Treptow with Oberschöneweide all year round.

The F11 is one of the oldest ferry lines in Berlin and was put into operation in 1896. The ferryman and owner of the ferry at that time was the innkeeper of the excursion restaurant "Spreeschloss", which was destroyed during the Second World War. Today, the ferry belongs to the BVG and can be used with a ticket for Berlin public transport. The route of the F11 crosses the Spree south of Plänterwald in southeast Berlin, connecting the districts of Baumschulenweg and Oberschöneweide. In the middle of this densely populated urban area, the ferry route offers a convenient fast connection between the two districts.

Tip for Cyclists

From the Treptower Park S-Bahn station, a four-kilometer bike ride through Treptower Park takes you to to the ferry pier. The route leads past the Soviet War Memorial and the abandoned amusement park Spreepark in Plänterwald. If you cycle back into the city on the other side of the Spree after the ferry crossing, you will pass the site of the former power plant in Rummelsburg, where you can now find a beach bar with beach volleyball and beach soccer.
