People with walking disabilities, wheelchair users, blind people and anyone who needs assistance when traveling by bus or train in Berlin can take benefit from the free accompanying service offered by the Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association (VBB). All you need are a valid VBB ticket and timely registration.
Senior citizens, wheelchair users, visually impaired or blind people, people with walking impairments, deaf people, mobility-impaired passengers, severely anxious people, and anyone who needs assistance and guidance when traveling by bus or train can use the service - even if all that is needed is help getting on and off the bus.
The service is available from Monday to Sunday, 7 AM to 10 PM. The area of operation covers the whole of Berlin, including trips to and from BER Airport. The service can accompany you from your apartment door all the way to your destination address and back again on request.
The appointment for the accompanied ride must be made one week in advance at the earliest and one day in advance at the latest. You will meet the person accompanying you at the door of your apartment. The will then bring you to the desired destination and also back again.
The service team can be recognized by their appropriately labeled clothing. The helper will bring a route plan to the appointment and can also operates the ticket vending machine if required.
The accompanying service is free of charge, you only need a valid VBB ticket.
