End of mask mandate on public transport

As of this Thursday, Berlin and Brandenburg are arelying on voluntary and personal responsibility when it comes to wearing a protective mask on buses and trains.

The mask requirement is dropped on regional public transport in Berlin and in neighboring Brandenburg as well as on long-distance transport and in all other remaining German states where masks were still mandatory up until today.

Coordination between Berlin and Brandenburg

FFP2 masks became obligatory on public transport in Brandenburg on November 24, 2021, and in Berlin on March 31, 2021. Now, the two states wanted to tackle the end of the mask mandate together and their governments worked in close coordination.
