Compensation for election workers will be 120 euros in the future

Wahlhelfende

Polling clerks in Berlin will receive up to 120 euros for their voluntary work during elections.

This was included in a draft by the Senate Department for the Interior to amend the electoral regulations, which the Senate took note of on Tuesday and wants to decide soon after submission to the Council of Mayors. The future amount of the so-called refreshment money is thus twice as high as in previous elections and votes. However, it is lower than the 240 euros that election workers will receive in the repeat election on February 12. The new regulation will reportedly apply from March 1. It will thus take effect for the first time in the referendum on more ambitious climate targets on March 26.
