The car sharing provider Miles is a Berlin-based startup that rents out vehicles of various types from small cars to large vans. Miles cars can be driven all over Germany.

Vehicles and Equipment

Miles rents out a wide range of different types of vehicles. Small cars such as the VW Polo, larger compact cars such as the VW Golf Variant or the Audi Q2 are available for hire. Tesla is also represented in the Miles fleet. Those who need a van will also find what they are looking for at the Miles fleet: The provider provides vans in various sizes. The portfolio includes cars with manual and automatic transmissions. Customers can choose between gasoline, diesel or electric vehicles.

Registration

To use Miles' vehicles, customers must register in the provider's app and offer proof of a valid EU driver's license. The minimum age to rent a car is 18 years old.

Rental Process and Pricing

Miles users can find and reserve a suitable vehicle via the app. Reservations are free of charge for the first 15 minutes. Cars can be reserved up to 24 hours in advance. The price charged for a trip depends on the mileage, not the rental time. It is possible to make a stop during the trip and continue afterwards. There are no costs for registration, refueling or parking fees. For longer trips, Miles offers rental packages from three hours to 30 days. An exceptional monthly fee applies to customers who have not had their driver's license for more than 12 months as they belong to a risk group. Once the destination has been reached, the car must be properly parked in the business area and the rental process terminated via the app. If the car needs to be refueled in between, this can be done free of charge at Total and Aral via a fuel card.
