The company Dott (former Tier) rents out e-bikes and scooters in the Berlin metropolitan area.
Note: The Tier and Dott companies have merged. From 21 October 2024, the Tier brand will only operate under the name Dott. Users will only be able to hire e-scooters and e-bikes via the Dott app.
In addition to e-scooters, the company is renting e-bikes in Berlin. Based on the free-floating sharing principle, the electric bikes can be found all over the city and are not tied to fixed stations.
Dott's electric bikes can only be rented after downloading the provider's free app. Users must register with their personal data and select a means of payment. Payment is possible with all major credit cards and Paypal.
Free bikes can be located via the Dott app and then unlocked via QR code. Once a bike is unlocked, the ride can start. After reaching the desired destination, the bike must be parked in a suitable place — either a designated parking area or the sidewalk. The parked e-bike should not obstruct any other road users. The rental can then be terminated via the app.
