Tamtam: Eleven Songs – Halle am Berghain

A specially for the Halle am Wriezener Bahnhof designed sound installation by the artist duo tamtam (Sam Auinger and Hannes Strobl) activates the impressive architecture of the place with acoustic means.

The installation "Eleven Songs - Halle am Berghain" by the Berlin-based artist duo, initiated by Singuhr Projekte, can be experienced from mid-July 2020. Sound and space are to merge with each other and open up new sonic states, moods and perspectives to visitors again and again. The sound installation is specially designed for the large boiler hall and the cinder cellar of the former district heating plant Friedrichshain. It transforms the monumental hall, which impresses with its sheer size and architecture of solid concrete and is somewhat hidden behind the club rooms of the Berghain, into a unique resonance space. The entire space becomes an instrument.
