Every year, the famous boulevard in Berlin's City West is decorated with numerous fairy lights and festive illuminations about a month before the Christmas holidays.
Along Ku'damm and Tauentzienstraße, around 500 trees shine bright with thousands of lights every year. The 4.5-kilometer stretch between Wittenbergplatz and Rathenauplatz is illuminated every year. Large luminous figures - such as the Nutcracker at the height of KaDeWe, the Snowman at the height of Brandenburgische Straße, a huge Buddy Bear and a glowing Santa Claus - make for special eye-catchers. Once you pass through one of the two 20-meter-high entrance portals and spot the illuminated Christmas tree in the middle of the boulevard, it is impossible not to get into the Christmas spirit.
