Tiergarten

Tiergarten's most famous sights are the namesake park and the government district around the Reichstag. The district is home to many cultural attractions such as the Berliner Philharmonie and the Neue Nationalgalerie (New National Gallery), as well as the "Manhattan" of Berlin - Potsdamer Platz. In addition, the area houses numerous embassies. Tiergarten also includes the traditionally working-class neighborhood of Moabit and the post-war modern Hansaviertel.

Tiergarten is very green and close to water. The river Spree cuts right through the district, and the neighborhood of Moabit is completely surrounded by water.

Tiergarten belongs to the administrative district of Mitte. The old district of Tiergarten is subdivided into the districts of Tiergarten, Hansaviertel and Moabit.
