Highlights: The Most Important Exhibitions 2024
Contemporary art, photography and the Old Masters: the 2024 exhibition year in Berlin once again promises top-class art highlights from all areas. more
Hungarian artist Zsófia Keresztes creates large-scale sculptural works and installations from a combination of materials that move between virtual and real identities.
Zsófia Keresztes' works are often rendered in pastel shades of light blue, beige, coral, and pink, further reinforcing the appropriation of real and imagined bodies. The large scale of her works belies their playful, otherworldly lightness, open and permeable to the spaces and viewers around them. Keressztes combines disparate forms into precarious chains full of associative potential and structural rebelliousness. In recognition of her ability to transform places and contexts into imaginary worlds of partial objects and physical bonds, Keresztes has been selected to represent her native Hungary at the 2022 Venice Biennale.
