Caricatures of reality meet illustrative illusions: The exhibition "Schöne Aussicht" ("Beautiful View") shows works dealing with themes of self-image and consciousness.
The group exhibition "Schöne Aussicht" at Neurotitan Gallery dares to examine the tension between image and illusion, self-image and the image of others, and creates a captivating artistic narrative of worlds that collide or merge.
The exhibition includes works by Brigitta Friedrich, Jens Hunger, Andrea Imwiehe, Peter Lindenberg, Luisa Pohlmann and Jens Schünemann.
In all of the works, a level of caricaturing reality plays a role, or of shifting, even dissolving the levels of content and appearance. Some works additionally address the tense relationship between humans, animals, and nature. The works approach narrative possibilities in a variety of ways: The subjects are people and animals, but also landscapes and habitats. In the process, the different perspectives and materials form a narrative field of tension in which the various worlds of experience merge with one another or collide harshly.
