Picasso: The Late Work

From March 2019, the Museum Barberini in Potsdam presents the exhibition "Picasso: The late work. From the Jacqueline Picasso Collection".

In 2019, the Museum Barberini will probably experience a rush of visitors with an exhibition on the late work of Spanish painter Pablo Picasso (1881-1973). "We are presenting 132 works from Jacqueline Picasso's collection that have rarely been shown before," explained museum director Ortrud Westheider to German news agency dpa. The exhibition illustrates how the artist remained innovative even in his last years.

All loans come from the collection of Jacqueline Picasso, the second and last wife of Pablo Picasso. Among the exhibits are numerous works that are shown for the first time in Germany and some that are being presented in a museum for the first time. Jacqueline Picasso's daughter, Catherine Hutin, makes this collection available for the exhibition in the Museum Barberini. The curator of this unique exhibition is Bernardo Laniado-Romero.
