On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the project "Why Are You Creative?" the Museum für Kommunikation (Museum for Communication) is bringing together a wide variety of works by prominent people to explore creativity.
Hermann Vaske posed the question "Why Are You Creative?" to various artists and celebrities and received a wide variety of answers. According to a drawing by the artist Damian Hirst, his creative origin lies in the male and female genital organs. For director Quentin Tarantino, creativity is a gift from God, for writer Günter Grass it's a necessity: "Because I have to."
The exhibition at the Museum für Kommunikation Berlin shows about 300 works, drawings and interviews in which celebrities such as David Lynch, Marina Abramovic, Stephen Hawking, David Bowie, Angelina Jolie, Ai Weiwei, Björk and Frank Gehry explore the question of what creativity means and where it comes from.
