The Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (Museum of Natural History) exhibits one of the best preserved examples of a Tyrannosaurus Rex in the world: His name is Tristan Otto.
The skeleton was found in 2012 in Montana in the USA and is regarded by international experts as an exceptional find. The fossil of "Tristan Otto" is an approximately 66-million-year-old, about 12-meter-long skeleton that is now on display in Berlin.
The scientists of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin and other cooperation partners have analysed the unique fossil with state-of-the-art technology for many years. There are original objects and media installations offering visitors an insight into the research around Tristan. The exhibition will grow over the next few years with the results of the research programme.
The approximately 1.5-meter long head is 98 percent intact, but still had to be assembled in Berlin. It's the most complete skull of a Tyrannosaurus rex known to date in the world. The skeleton is owned by the Danish patron Niels Nielsen.
