Built in the 18th century, Britz Palace in the district of Neukölln forms the romantic backdrop for this cozy historic Christmas market.
This Neukölln Christmas Market stands out thanks to its extraordinary concept and program: Traditional and Nordic characters, fire shows and historical entertainment transform the site of the historic Christmas market into a Nordic fairytale landscape.
On the estate there are over 50 Christmas stalls and many activities to experience, such as rides with sledge dogs, pony rides, archery and crossbow shooting, a wooden water wheel, large impressive Viking boats for climbing and the "Dragon's Hammer", a large hand-operated music box.
Among the delicacies are baked almonds, apple doughnuts and crepes. Who likes it hearty can grab game specialities, langos, garlic bread, flatbread, skewers and grilled meat. The drinks range from red and white mulled wine, medieval spiced wine, hot quince mead to the Scandinavian mulled punch Glögi. For the children there is traditionally hot elderberry punch.
Children can try their hand at crossbow and archery or knife and axe throwing, climb on Viking boats and discover the dragon hammer. Adults, of course, may also participate in the activities. The Medieval Nordic theme of the Christmas market also extends to the culinary delights on offer. Finnish mulled wine and nordic fruit wines, quince mead and meats from the grill will be served alongside the usual Christmas market treats.
