For over 20 years, this Christmas market near Hackesche Höfe has offered visitors selected goods that are organic, sustainable and fairly produced.
Located between the tourist hotspots Hackesche Höfe and Rosenthaler Platz, Sophienstraße exudes a picturesque small-town charm. Lined with old buildings with magnificent facades, the street lends a special backdrop to the Sustainable Christmas Market.
The Christmas market on Sophienstraße offers Berlin's young creative minds a platform to present and sell their products. Accordingly, the assortment is hip, colorful and unique. The Christmas market places aspecial focus on sustainability, fairness and environmental awareness.
Christmas market classics such as bratwurst, crêpes, candied almonds and mulled wine will be offered in their organic version at the market on Sophienstraße. In addition, a selection of vegetarian and vegan delicacies as well as specialties from other countries will be sold at the market's many food stalls.
In keeping with the sustainable ideology, the Christmas market tries to get by with as little energy consumption as possible and therefore does not offer any amusement rides. Nevertheless, there is plenty for young visitors to discover: Mythical creatures on stilts and golden angels roam the Christmas market and Santa Claus stops by every day and rewards well-behaved children with beautiful gifts.
